Hey Birgitte, the Prakticas aren't exactly luxurious, but they're not bad at all. And as this post made clear, it's all about the lenses you use on it. I bet the 50 mm was a Pentacon 50 / 1.8 or maybe a Meyer Oreston 50 / 1.8 (these two are praKtically identical)?
Don't write off your LTL yet, I've made decent photos with these 'Spartan' Prakticas. I like the second and the last one of this series by the way, they are beautifully moody.
You are absolutely right. It's the Pentacon 50 / 1.8. The reason why it's not written in the post is, that I wrote and published it, while I was abroad (and didn't have the camera and lens with me), and I simply couldn't remember the name of the lens. (That's how little I have used it!) Indeed this lens was so much better than the 28 mm (which btw is a Seimar lens - f/2.8). Or maybe it's just me feeling more comfortable with a 50 mm. I don't know :-) Thank you so much for your comment!
Being in focus is overrated. The water and flowery tree were my faves! Seems like it was worth it to have given it another chance, I’ve got a few cameras that could probably use a second chance…

Thank you! Yes, I am happy I tried this other lens. My own fave among these is the first photo, because it came out exactly as I had hoped for!
you should give it more than a second chance, photos are beautiful
Thank you so much! I will definitely use it again :-)
