I totally agree — it’s incredible how much Paris has to offer. I couldn't agree more with your thoughts on the Jardin du Luxembourg. I was amazed by how beautiful and peaceful it felt. I could have stayed there all day too. I’ve added the Grand Mosque of Paris to my list, thank you!
I’d recommend watching the sunrise at Trocadéro — it’s absolutely stunning and far less crowded then. The Coulée Verte René-Dumont is perfect for a peaceful, green walk. Pair it with lunch at Le Crémieux, which has plenty of vegan and vegetarian options, and you’ve got a lovely afternoon.
Thank you for sharing your recommendations! I will read about the Coulée Verte. I haven't heard about it until now, but I took a quick look online and it looks very nice. And I am indeed a vegetarian, so a good restaurant with veggie options is always appreciated. Thanks for commenting!
It's funny, you nearly described my usual walks on Saturday when I was a teenager: take the subway to Place d'Italy, walk to the Latin Quarter and have lunch in one of the many Greek restaurants in the side streets between Saint Michel and Cluny, then walk to the Seine, follow it to Bir-Hakeim, turn South toward Champs Elysées, have dinner there, then watch a film late night in one of the cinemas at the bottom of the avenue, then take the metro again at a George V to go back home around midnight. I just didn't go much to the right bank.
That is indeed funny! Also because back in 1996, when I lived there, I only remember having eaten out twice. One time was at a Boullion Chartier (no idea which one) and the other time I had dinner at one of those Greek restaurants, which you mention, behind Boulevard Saint Michel. (I thought they were mainly for tourists, but now I know that at least one Frenchman ate there too :-))
I’ve never been but my wife has, and loved it. I have lots of family there as well on my dad’s side but I still have not gotten there. You made it all very appealing with your words and pictures. Actually my fave movie is Amelie, great taste you got! I’ve seen it so many times.
Thank you! I hope you will be able to go some day. Amelie is indeed a great movie, and there are so many locations from it especially in Montmartre, which you can easily find and visit.
My timeline of falling in love with Paris is similar to yours a little! I first visited in 1995, but truly fell in love in 1999 when I lived in the south of France for a year and visited Paris often. I’ve been back in 2001, 2018, 2023 and possibly again this year. By luck of timing, I have film shots from every visit — some because film was the only thing, some because I had come back to film. Your images are beautiful and I loved you written insiders tour 🥰
Thank you so much! You should do a post with all your old photos :-) I know I would love to see them. I have never been to the South of France, but I would love to go one day. Thank you for commenting!

Love it 😍 the second photo of the park and sunlight streaming through the trees is just spectacular too ✨
Thank you so much! It's one of my favorites too!

Beautiful set, my wife and I are in love with Paris, we often think about moving there. Your Eiffel Tower shot is my fav
Thank you so much! Moving to Paris would indeed be a dream (although a very expensive one :-))
